Learn the mutual benefits of infant/baby massage. This 4 part series will address different massage techniques for the developmental stages of a child: infants, pre-crawlers, crawlers, walkers/toddlers.

With each class the caregiver will receive a small bottle natural oil (olive, almond, or grape seed oil) that is theirs to keep and take home with them for massage time at home with baby. Also, in each class, handouts will be given to the caregiver of the massage strokes taught in the class that day.  

Caregivers are encouraged to bring baby blanket and any ‘baby needs’ that will help baby feel more comfortable.

Session One - Learn the mutual benefits of infant/baby massage. Why we “ask baby permission” to massage and how? Learn Baby massage strokes for lower extremities and abdomen; and the benefits for each area.
Discussion topic – 6 stages of awareness for baby and best time to massage your baby.

Session Two
 - Review class 1 and give caregivers time to share questions and stories of their experiences during the week regarding massaging their baby. Learn baby massage strokes for upper extremities and chest
Discussion topic – Touch ~ why it is essential for baby’s healthy physical and psychological development.  Share case studies regarding touch and babies.

Session Three
 - Review of class 1&2; and give caregivers time to share…..
Learn baby massage strokes for face and back
Discussion topic – Oxytocin ~ the love hormone.  What is it and why is so important for mom/caregiver and baby?

Session Four - Review of class 1,2,& 3; and give caregivers time to ask questions……
Learn abbreviated massage routine(s) for common childhood ailments, such as:
teething, constipation, colic, soothing a restless baby to sleep
Discussion topic – How to incorporate massage as baby get older, past the age of 3 years old.


Cindy Jo Oselio, RN, LMT  is a Registered Nurse and worked in the areas of Oncology, Bone Marrow Transplant, Hemodialysis, and Hospice; Cindy’s heart always was drawn to Hospice and End of Life Care.

Most currently, Cindy is a Licensed Massage Therapist. Proudly calling herself, “Your family massage therapist”, she is also certified as a Infant Massage Instructor, teaching parents and caregivers the amazing massage techniques that assist their infant and children how to naturally move through common childhood ailments such as growing pains, teething, belly aches, and so much more. Cindy also specializes in pediatric massage, especially for children diagnosed with ADD, ADHD, and Autism.

Cindy also uses the art and science of massage to assist the elderly and hospice clients to decrease aging bodily discomforts, lessen chronic pain, and pass on more comfortably and peacefully.
