Ecstatic Dance: Medicine Dance 2012
Discover the authentic dancer in you. No mirrors, no choreography, no pressure. Express your creativity and freedom… if that sounds intimidating, release the thought. It’s about letting go and that includes your judgments about being “good at it.” It’s YOUR dance as only you can do it. No experience needed. Everyone’s a natural!
Transformational practice for body and soul… full body workout as well. You can move as gently or wildly as you are called.
Heeraa Sazevich has been facilitating ecstatic dances for 10 years drawing on her studies of the 5Rhythms dance path, theater, meditation and emotional release techniques. She creates a safe space for people to let go and be free. www.ecstaticdancehawaii.com

Im curious to know more about the Ecstatic Dance; Medicine Dance class? Is there live music or is music played over speaker? It sounds very interesting yet a little bit intimidating. Can you please brief me a little on how this class will take its course?
Very Interested,
Vanessa
I wondered if this class will be held in the barefoot ballroom? The write up says “no mirrors,” so I wondered because there are mirrors in the ballroom.
Thank you!
Rita
Aloha Rita,
Thank you for the inquiry about ecstatic dance at Still & Moving Center.
I cover the mirrors in the ballroom in order for folks to go inwards and not get caught up with
image… letting go particularly of having to look good when dancing!!!
I hope you can come… it really is less intimidating than it might sound and everyone’s
always surprised at their creative potential.
Aloha Vanessa,

I cover the mirrors in the ballroom in order for folks to go inwards and not get caught up with
image… letting go particularly of having to look good when dancing!!! It is recorded music… I try
to play music of all sorts of genres… mostly global beats. The music starts quietly, builds to a
high energy peak and finishes with meditative music… you are welcome to move as quietly or
wildly as your body is called to… I usually do a group sharing piece in the beginning and some
structured practice before we move into free form expression…
