Learn to dance safely while creating a point of contact with your fellow dancers. Contact Improv involves taking weight through your bone structure, ‘surfing’ other bodies, rolling into and out of the floor, lifting, following the flow, and much more! You practice the basic dance technique of moving from your core and finding the right muscle tonus that allows elastic, strong, centered, yet fluid movement. Contact Improv can strengthen the body and bones and give you a great massage while dancing. We practice contact in class so we can really jam and have a safe technique in an open dance setting! Be part of a wonderful worldwide community of Contact Improvisational dance. Enliven your spirit through the creative, playful flow of the movement with others and on your own.
This class will gently guide participants to explore intuitive dance movement in the context of physical contact with another. This is a free flow dance form in which the point of contact with the other dancer/s provides the starting point for a movement exploration. Practice includes rolling, falling, being upside down, following a physical point of contact, supporting and giving weight to a partner.

*Bring comforable clothing: half or long sleeves and pants preferred.

All levels welcome
