That’s the feeling you’ll get watching and learning with Josefina Stellato! The closeness\, the confidence\, the breath-taking swoops and tantalizing pauses…  \nJosefina Stellato has been dancing Argentine tango at the highest level for more than two decades. She’s now arrived at Still & Moving Center as our Artist in Residence for about 6 months! \n As a performer\, Josefina has been a member of renowned choreographer Leonardo Cuello’s tango company at the National University of the Arts in Buenos Aires\, Argentina. She’s been a cast member of Social Tango Project for the past decade\, performing in multiple theaters in Buenos Aires! In 2023\, Josefina participated in the company’s North American tour and performed at Kennedy Center in New York City. \nAs a teacher\, Josefina deepened her understanding of pedagogy under the direction of Dana Frigoli and the DNI Tango school in Buenos Aires\, where Josefina served as a senior faculty member. She was also an official member of the DNI Tango Company\, where she participated in the live shows “Dos\, lo que se disuelve”\, “Asimétrico”\, “Seres Materiales”; a film version of “Dos”\, and “Remueve la piel suspire”\, which Josefina created and choreographed.  \n Josefina has taught and performed at international festivals in Europe and during the pandemic gained a devoted following for her online lessons. Costumes or Halloween attire in black and orange is welcome…capes and veils a plus! \nGet out of your head to dance creatively to a Halloween soundtrack. Explore the emotions of the season… What is fear? Where does it come from? How can we embrace it? \nThis dance class can help align your energetic system\, stretch and release your body\, enhance your physical conditioning\, and emotional self-awareness. \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Krista Hiser \nAs a Nia Black Belt\, 2nd Degree\, Krista Hiser is a conscious dance facilitator and ecstatic dance aficionado who curates a unique musical soundscape for each session and provides light guidance through physical\, mental\, and emotional realms. Your choices determine what type of conditioning you may experience: physical conditioning\, emotional and self-knowledge\, stress-reduction\, listening skills\, music appreciation\, and increased energy. We close each session with a somatic gratitude reflection. \nKrista’s style is athletic\, creative\, and zany. She loves to teach Nia from her heart and is usually surprised at what comes out. She loves to play with the spirit and energy of the group – each class is a unique co-creation that will never happen again! I am committed to Nia as a personal practice\, and I teach it as a cumulative subject of inquiry. You can just show up to work out and break a sweat\, but if you really choose Nia\, my classes can be a catalyst transformative change. I am here to empower each participant to love their body and their life\, and to impact our community and the world by doing whatever it is they do\, and doing it better!
