Everyone who participates will have the chance to perform at our annual Diwali Celebration—the Indian Festival of Lights—on Sunday\, October 26! \nBollywood dance blends classical Indian dance\, folk traditions\, and modern styles into a colorful\, expressive form that’s all about joy\, rhythm\, and storytelling. You’ll learn sequences inspired by iconic Bollywood choreography\, infused with energy\, grace\, and cultural flair. \nMore than just steps\, Bollywood dancing is about community\, celebration\, and expression. In 2012 she co-founded and directed a small Bollywood dance company\, Aaja Nachle Hawaii\, which performed at events and shows all over the state and offered regular community classes and workshops.  \nNada has studied with a number of well-known dance teachers\, danced on a competitive Bhangra team\, and has directed and performed in professional videos and on stages in Hong Kong\, Macau\, New York\, and Honolulu.  \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Sumoha Min\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Sumoha Min celebrates the vibrant dance traditions of her community by sharing it with you! \nSumoha Min grew up in Houston\, Texas\, learning Garba and Raas dancing at an early age. She later trained in the classical Indian dance forms of Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi\, while expanding her repertoire with modern\, contemporary\, and West African dance styles during her time at New York University.  \nSumoha’s professional journey includes serving as a principal dancer and choreographer with NYU NASHA and PatelWorks Dance Co. in New York and Tattva Dance Co. in the San Francisco Bay Area. She also played a key role in founding the RAMA community\, a creative collective dedicated to empowering AAPI artists. \nAfter relocating to Hawaii in 2006\, Sumoha joined Aaja Nachle Hawaii\, where she helped produce three showcases and began teaching Bollywood dance to adults and youth. That’s the feeling you’ll get watching and learning with Josefina Stellato! The closeness\, the confidence\, the breath-taking swoops and tantalizing pauses…  \nJosefina Stellato has been dancing Argentine tango at the highest level for more than two decades. She’s now arrived at Still & Moving Center as our Artist in Residence for about 6 months! \n As a performer\, Josefina has been a member of renowned choreographer Leonardo Cuello’s tango company at the National University of the Arts in Buenos Aires\, Argentina. She’s been a cast member of Social Tango Project for the past decade\, performing in multiple theaters in Buenos Aires! In 2023\, Josefina participated in the company’s North American tour and performed at Kennedy Center in New York City. \nAs a teacher\, Josefina deepened her understanding of pedagogy under the direction of Dana Frigoli and the DNI Tango school in Buenos Aires\, where Josefina served as a senior faculty member. She was also an official member of the DNI Tango Company\, where she participated in the live shows “Dos\, lo que se disuelve”\, “Asimétrico”\, “Seres Materiales”; a film version of “Dos”\, and “Remueve la piel suspire”\, which Josefina created and choreographed.  \n Josefina has taught and performed at international festivals in Europe and during the pandemic gained a devoted following for her online lessons.
