Each class includes an energizing warm-up\, foundational steps\, dynamic choreography\, and cultural insights that reveal the roots and spirit behind each movement. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re new to dance or have years of experience\, this series is your chance to grow as a dancer\, connect with an inspiring community\, and experience the thrill of performing on one of Hawaiʻi’s most iconic stages. Just bring your enthusiasm and dedication\, we’ll take care of the rest! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nCarmen Linhares\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCarmen Linhares is the co-owner and co-teacher at Capoeira Besouro Hawaii\, brings a lifetime of movement and artistry to her capoeira and dance classes. She began studying the arts in childhood — exploring ballet\, jazz\, West African\, Caribbean\, and Brazilian dance — and later performed professionally off Broadway with a Brazilian Dance Ensemble\, as well as in productions both locally and abroad. Since discovering capoeira in 2001\, she has dedicated herself to its practice and teaching\, co-founding Capoeira Besouro Hawaii with Mestre Kinha in 2004 and sharing her passion as an instructor since 2006.
