SUMMARY:Hula Around the Island for May Day - LIVE ONLINE\, Interactive with Kumu Mālia Helelā
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, May 1st\, 2021\n \n \n \n \n \n \n 5:00 – 6:00 pm HST \nFree! \n \n Sign Up Here\n \n \n \n \n \n Let’s holoholo (take a little trip) and hula with Kumu Mālia during this unique virtual May Day event! \nThroughout the past year\, hula students have been dancing online with Malia\, seeing her either in the studio or in her backyard. Now our kumu (teacher) is taking us to some of her favorite places on O’ahu! \nLet’s go on a virtual huaka’i (journey) to visit local spots on island that are featured in our hula dances. As she lands in each place\, we can dance together with Kumu Mālia in beautiful locations\, ranging from Kailua to Waikīkī! \nKumu Malia will make lots of stops to talk story about the setting and inspiration behind the music and choreography\, then give us the opportunity to hula with her\, looking out on the scenery she’s seeing. Thanks to the magic of Zoom and videography\, we’ll dance all over the island in just one hour. Miraculous! \nTo prepare a bit more\, you wish to attend one or two of these workshops with Kumu Malia: https://stillandmovingcenter.com/event/intro-hawaiian-culture-malia/2021-04-03/ \n  \n \n SEE OUR RELATED EVENTS\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Get the Still & Moving App\n \n APPLE APP STORE\n \n GOOGLE PLAY STORE
