SUMMARY:Nia Mentorship Series: Velvet Routine - LIVE ONLINE\, Interactive with Renée Tillotson\, 2nd Degree Nia Black Belt
DESCRIPTION:January 10 – April 18\, 2021 9:00 am – 10:15 am\n \n Sign Up Now\n \n \n \n \n \n 12 Week series: January 10 – April 18\, 2021 \nFor Nia Belts\, White Belt or above – FREE during turbulent times \n(payment options also available for those who feel inclined) \nNote: Continuity is important for keeping the circle of community. Renée asks that you commit to attending the entire series. \nLearn from a Nia master in action: Debbie Rosas\, choreographer of the routine “Velvet”! This beautifully crafted routine combines power and grace with a full-spectrum of movement variety. An experienced Nia teacher (which this Mentorship series helps you to become) could take the gorgeous choreography of any of Velvet’s songs and apply the katas to another piece of music. The routine’s focus on the “Hands” works well with this year’s theme at Still & Moving Center: Self-Crafting. \nLet Your Soul Guide Your Heart and the soaring Nia classic Free are some of the outstanding songs you’ll love in the Velvet routine. \nRenée Tillotson\, Nia Black Belt\, 2nd degree\, facilitates a Nia-Life-Spirit check-in before every session\, finding deep relevance to our daily lives as “Spirit clothed in flesh”\, as Debbie Rosas likes to talk about our experience in a sacred body. We connect Nia concepts with a theme for the week\, enhancing our teaching skill to set a focus and intent. \nWe next learn the “katas” that make up each song\, and how they fit with the music\, easily and organically absorbing the principles of Nia’s “bars”. Renée unpacks each move to approach it safely and simply. She also demonstrates more energetically intense variations.  \n \n \n \n \n \n Syllabus for the 12 Week series\nJan 10  –  Song 1:  Yours Sincerely \nJan 17  –  Song 2: Oolong Journey \nJan 24  –  Song 3:  Lovin’ Music (Justin Le Mar Remix) \nJan 31  –  Song 4:  Show Me Something \nFeb 7  –  Song 5: Let Your Soul Guide Your Heart \nFeb 14  –  Song 6: National Dobro \nFeb 21 – Song 7: Don’t Deny My Love \nFeb 28  –  Song 8: Free \n(Mar 7 skipped) \nMar 15 – Song 9: How Does It Feel \nMar 21 – Song 10: Spring Again \nMar 28 – Review songs 1-5 \n(April 4- skipped) \nApril 11 – Review songs 6-10 \nTBC April 18- full reviewMar 7  –  Song 9: How Does It Feel \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n BENEFITS OF MENTORSHIP \nParticipants in former mentorships series have evolved from never teaching into teaching single songs as guest instructors; to teaching partial or whole classes as subs; to teaching classes of their own; to starting a new studio. I found my Nia teaching wings in this program and I continue to grow each week. Thanks Renée.” \n– Lorna Moglia\, White & Green Belt from California. \n“The Nia Mentorship Series that I’ve attended online with Still & Moving Center has been such a great opportunity for me to stay “connected” to my Nia practice and Nia community in a way I could not have imagined when I signed up. The experience\, love and appreciation of Nia that Renée\, Nancy and others that have shared in the mentoring of this class and what they bring to the table and the dance floor is incredible! \nLearning a new routine with the class\, reviewing and diving deeper into the Nia principles and practices has been such a great learning opportunity for me.Through this Mentorship Series experience I continue to learn and grow in my confidence and ability to share Nia as a newer teacher as well as my own personal Nia practice. \nI have also improved immensely the ability to put into practice my learnings as I draw from the “well” of Nia and “dance through life” in my own mind\, body spirit experiences of each day.” \n– Mikelle Ivers\, Nia White\, Green & Blue Belt from Wyoming. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Get the Still & Moving App\n \n APPLE APP STORE\n \n GOOGLE PLAY STORE
