SUMMARY:The Epic Tale of the Ramayana 2026 with Still & Moving and Hawaii Theatre
DESCRIPTION:A Hawaii Theatre production in partnership with the Still & Moving Meditation Fellowship + Still & Moving Community Center \nFriday\, November 6\, 2026 · Pre-show talk 6:30 PM · Curtain 7:00 PM\nLocation: Hawai’i Theatre 1130 Bethel StreetHonolulu\, HI 96813 \nGet premium seats before tickets are open to the public!Pre-sale tickets are available to Still & Moving community starting Aug. 28-31\, 2026with code: RAMAYANA \nFor nearly two decades\, Still & Moving has marked Diwali\, the Indian festival of lights\, with a living retelling the world’s oldest epic: the Ramayana. What began as a small community gathering — a story shared among students and teachers — has grown into a full theatrical production\, drawing dozens of performers ranging in age from 5 to 85. This year\, for the first time\, that story steps onto one of the most storied stages in the Pacific: the Hawaiʻi Theatre. \nThe Epic Tale of the Ramayana follows Prince Ram and Princess Sita\, cast from their kingdom into exile\, and the courage\, loyalty\, and love that carry them through it — including Sita’s abduction by the ten-headed demon king Ravana\, and her rescue by the troops Prince Ram and the devoted monkey-warrior Hanuman. At its heart\, it’s a story about the triumph of good over selfishness\, light over darkness — the very themes Diwali itself celebrates. \nBringing this beloved tradition to the Hawaiʻi Theatre — with its own century of history as a gathering place for Honolulu’s arts and culture — marks a new chapter for Still & Moving Meditation Fellowship & Still & Moving Community Center\, with an invitation for the wider community to witness and participate in this joyous annual celebration.  \nJoin us Friday\, November 6\, 2026\, for a pre-show talk at 6:30 PM offering context on the story and its traditions\, with curtain at 7:00 PM. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Learn more HERE
