Aerial Hammock Dance 5 Week Winter Series with Jessica Eirado Enes

November 8, 2024, @ 6:40 pm - December 13, 2024, @ 7:40 pm HST

Fridays 6:40-7:40 pm HST

November 8 – Decembeer 13 2024  *no class Nov 29

Price: $150

Enjoy the in-the-air thrill of Aerial Hammock Dance, while staying within reach of the floor! Progress each week through choreography to perform at our annual winter event, Merry & Bright, on December 14 at 5:00 pm.

Tone up the entire body – arms, legs and core – learning expressive dance skills in this soft, remarkably versatile apparatus.

Prepare for your ascent into the aerial hammock with floor exercises to tone and stretch. Enjoy a fabulous, unique workout with restful, rejuvenating closure.

The techniques and strength-building exercises of the hammock help your approach to all aerial mediums. Aerial apparatus cross-training improves core control, grip strength, and upper body strength. The more classes you take, the more these benefits increase!

Participants will need to hoist and stabilize their own body weight. Aerial Yoga is a good precursor to Aerial Hammock Dance.

Mature teens may attend with teacher permission.

Kindly let your instructor know of any injuries. Contra-indications for aerial classes: glaucoma, heart conditions, fused spine, and pregnancy beyond doctor recommendation.

Arrive 15 minutes early to your first aerial to ensure you can safely enjoy your aerial class. Since space is limited and setup time is necessary, we are not able to accommodate late arrivals to Aerial classes. Registration is for the entire Series.

Clothing Requirements:
For your safety: Tight-fitting clothing, shirts with sleeves, leggings.
For preserving the apparatus: No zippers or metal. Jewelry off. No perfume.

Jessica Eirado Enes

Jessica thrills her audience and her students. Some movers inspire us with the longing and determination to move as beautifully they do – Jessica is one of those dancers and teachers! Jessica’s commitment to authentic movement, combined with her high skill level, seamlessly encourages us all to elevate our own.

Jessica studied aerial silks while still a teenager, stemming from her lifelong love of tree climbing. After some years of focus on her dance career, she began practicing aerial again while working with the company Not Standing, which blends dance and circus.

Jessica has been working as a freelance dancer/choreographer and movement teacher for the last 10 years, working and touring with several European companies and choreographers, such as Alexander Vantournhout, Agostina D’Alessandro, Jason Mabana, Zemiata, Compagnia Petranura Danza, Loris Petrillo, and Roberto Zappalà, among others.

Jessica is the co-artistic director with Eddie Oroyan of their dance company My Homeless Lover. She likes to experiment, research movement and keep things new, while appreciating the need for familiarity. She is a guest artist with the Minneapolis-based company, called Black Label Movement, for a work that premiered at the prestigious American Dance Festival in October of 2024.

Jessica Eirado Enes was born and raised in Italy. After several trips that made her fall in love with the Hawaiian culture and land, she officially moved to O’ahu in 2024 to begin permaculture farming of the land, while staying connected with her dancing profession. You’ll enjoy her earthiness!
