Mondays, 5:30 – 6:30 pm HST

Sundays, 9:00 – 10:00 am HST

Feeling ready to occupy vertical space doing yoga? The aerial hammock is here to be your friend, your balance, your support in this yoga class. Deepen your stretch, correct your alignment, refine postures and safely perform inversions. Throughout this class, you find traditional yoga poses as well as aerial variations.

AIReal Yoga™ is the first aerial yoga program credentialed through the Yoga Alliance. The silky, sling-like hammock, which hangs and swivels from a single point on the ceiling, acts as another yoga prop. It assists you with both balance and core stability, wrapping around to hold your full body’s weight so that you feel comfortable and supported.

Inversions anyone? The hammock also serves as your very own spotter, allowing you to experience and feel benefits from yoga poses you did not think possible.

AIReal Yoga™ is easy on the joints and will help you to sense core engagement, build full body strength, and increase flexibility. You will reinforce your yoga mat practice during class. Experience the bliss of sinking into your hammock cocoon for savasana at the end of the practice.

Claim your piece of ‘vertical real estate’ in an aerial yoga class with our AIReal Yoga™ certified instructors!

Robin Shepard

Academy of Mindful Movement certified, Level 1

Robin enjoys teaching both the young and the young-at-heart. As a life-long learner, she is fascinated by recent scientific discoveries around fascia and functional movement and their implications for the practice of yoga. This curiosity has fueled exploration and experimentation to create a style of movement that is playful and dynamic, with practical benefit for everyone from absolute beginners to more advanced practitioners.

Robin constantly looks for ways to deliver a more personal experience, with respectful irreverence and fun. Whether on the yoga mat or in the aerial hammock, she links functional movement skills, breath mechanics, and novel approaches to traditional poses to increase somatic awareness, mobility, and build an organic mind/body connection.

As a long time practitioner, Robin has personally experienced the difference that regularly practicing yoga can make in a person’s life. She sees yoga as a doorway, progressing from movement into meditation, awareness, understanding, and finally acceptance of ourselves and others. She considers yoga a powerful and essential practice to help navigate our modern world.

Originally a native of the Pacific Northwest, often visiting our islands, Robin spent 13 years traveling, raising her family, and acquiring knowledge and skills in Guangzhou and Shanghai, China, as well as  Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam. Having purchased a home here in 2014, Robin is delighted to call Honolulu home.

She completed her foundational yoga teacher trainings with Suzanne Vian of Yoga Vietnam and her 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training in the FluidUs Method with Carlos Tao. She has taught yoga for years, assisting with Yoga Teacher Trainings. Additionally, Robin is an experienced, registered Children’s Yoga Teacher and a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, with training in Pre-Natal and Post-Natal yoga.

Since arriving in Honolulu in 2020, Robin has been captivated by the modality of aerial yoga and has completed her teacher training with Carmen Curtis, founder of AIReal Yoga, in AIReal Yoga, AIReal Restore, and Aerial Hammock Dance.
