Learn the Art of Chinese Tea (Cha Dao), and awaken the radiant energy and clarity within you. This workshop invites you to slow down, connect with the culture and qualities of tea, and allow each sip to become a mirror, reflecting the calm, clarity, and quiet joy already within you.
What if cultivating presence felt like a natural blooming? A soft opening into your most grounded, vibrant, and authentic self?
Through a traditional, hands-on tea demonstration, you’ll be guided to tune in, soften, and fully experience tea, not just as a drink, but as a living practice. Rooted in Cha Dao, the Way of Tea, this experience becomes a pathway inward, where stillness and awareness gently awaken your inner radiance.
You’ll explore what it means to be Cha Ren, a person shaped by the qualities of tea, learning from tea and water as they embody patience, flow, resilience, and clarity. As each piece of teaware is introduced with intention, you’ll begin to notice how the five elements subtly reveal themselves on the tea table, inviting a deeper sense of harmony, connection, and curiosity.
As you observe the live preparation of high mountain tea from Alishan, Taiwan, and engage with the process, you’ll begin to feel the Qi (life force energy), the journey of tea from leaf to water to cup, and finally into your body, awakening a sense of presence, connection, and gentle expansion.
You’re invited to sip slowly, reflect openly, and notice what begins to bloom.
In this workshop, you will:
Join Jade Chan and Deeshen Shah, Qigong teachers and tea practitioners, for a mindful journey into the art of tea. Jade Chan has explored the Art of Chinese Tea through guidance from Qigong and tea masters and servers in Taiwan, hands-on research, and visits to serene high-mountain tea fields and traditional tea houses. Deeshen Shah has been steeped in the Art of Indian Chai since his youth, transforming the practice into a meditative, still art.
