Enjoy the in-the-air thrill of Aerial Hammock Dance, while staying within reach of the floor! Series are great for learning a sequence!

Tone up the entire body – arms, legs and core – learning expressive dance skills in this soft, remarkably versatile apparatus.

Prepare for your ascent into the aerial hammock with floor exercises to tone and stretch. Enjoy a fabulous, unique workout with restful, rejuvenating closure.

The techniques and strength-building exercises of the hammock help your approach to all aerial mediums. Aerial apparatus cross-training improves core control, grip strength, and upper body strength. The more classes you take, the more these benefits increase!

Participants will need to hoist and stabilize their own body weight. Aerial Yoga is a good precursor to Aerial Hammock Dance.

Mature teens may attend by permission of our Aerial Faculty.

Kindly let your instructor know of any injuries. Contra-indications for aerial classes: glaucoma, heart conditions, fused spine, and pregnancy beyond doctor recommendation.

Please arrive 15 minutes early to the first class to ensure you can safely set up. Since space is limited and setup time is necessary, we are not able to accommodate late arrivals to Aerial classes. Your registration is a commitment to all classes in the series.

Clothing Requirements:

For your safety: Tight-fitting clothing, shirts with sleeves, leggings.
For preserving the apparatus: No zippers or metal. Jewelry off. No perfume

About Jessica

Jody’s students leave sessions feeling equally calmed and invigorated, alert but at peace, and grounded yet flying high. You’ll feel supported by her care and encouragement, and more skilled than when you entered class.

Connection is Jodie’s Why. For Jody, the past three decades worth of dancing – on the ground and in the air – have proven to be a great vehicle for self-connection and discovery, as well as wonderful relationships with others. In her classes, Jodie encourages students to engage in self-exploration while also meeting and connecting with their fellow movers, dancers, meditators, and flyers.

A long-time lover of all things anatomy, kinesiology, and somatic sensation, Jody has Riverdanced across Europe, ‘flown’ over stages for an international opera company, professionally danced aboard a cruise ship, and taught Pilates and guided meditation classes in six countries on three continents. Her experience in dance and aerial arts goes back for decades.

With a deep desire to help people heal and grow, Jody aims for you – her student – to get to know the self, the body, the mind, and the heart through your journey with movement and stillness.
