Okay, I’ve only been married for about three days, so I am definitely not a marriage expert. 😂 But if there’s one thing I’ve already noticed, it’s that some of my favorite moments have been the simplest ones.
The wedding was beautiful, but so is laughing over something completely ridiculous, dancing around the kitchen, making fun of each other, or turning an ordinary errand to the post office into a little adventure.
Life has a way of filling up our days with responsibilities. There will always be emails to answer, dishes to wash, places to be, and things to figure out. But joy doesn’t just show up when everything is done. Sometimes you have to create it.
Tell the bad joke. Take the silly photo. Hold hands on the walk. Make each other laugh. Steal the toilet paper from the bathroom! Be spontaneous. Be a little weird together. Tell them how handsome or beautiful they are to you.
Healthy relationships aren’t built only through communication and commitment – although those matter, too. They’re also built through shared smiles, inside jokes, and sudden karaoke in the car…moments that remind you not to take life quite so seriously.
So my newlywed advice, three days in? Never stop having fun together. Being silly with the person you love is surprisingly good medicine. Ha!
