The benefits of this workshop include tension release, improved posture, and increased mobility in the neck and entire spine. Take this wonderful opportunity to address chronic neck problems. Move and release tense shoulder girdles, or a clenched jaw.

With effective, tiny Feldenkrais® movements, you can get rid of that notorious ‘pain in the neck’. These exercises can be done from anywhere, at any time. And once your neck releases, your face will start to look as if it’s had a vacation!

From 7th Cervical to the Atlas

The neck can act like a bottleneck between our brain and our torso. It’s common to carry tension here, and it’s an area prone to injury. As a result, unpleasant, painful and even dangerous conditions can arise. When we soften and heal the neck, the possibility of a whole new outlook on life emerges.

This workshop offers simple and easy healing methods, gentle enough for all age groups and safe for people with most medical conditions. Most movements will be done while lying down. Though the neck will be the focus, the entire spine benefits to feel longer.

This workshop is recommended for all active people, teleworkers and anyone who wants to feel younger and more mobile. People with chronic pain often find relief with Feldenkrais. This workshop will be especially effective for tired eyes, stiff neck and shoulders being overused on computers and cell phones. All ages of adults are welcome.

Please have a mat or rug on the floor.

The Feldenkrais® Method

The Feldenkrais method was developed by Judo Black belt and physician Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais in the 1940s to help heal his severe sports injury. His method has helped thousands of people of all ages, worldwide, to regain function and recover from injuries, tension and pain.

Dr. Feldenkrais understood that improving the function of the body starts with increasing the mind’s awareness of the body. With this new awareness, we re-pattern our movement and musculature. We drop excess effort and move with greater ease. Without even realizing it, we are resetting your nervous system. Our brain and body now work together more smoothly as we move.

The Feldenkrais® Method is a wonderful and potent method that almost anyone can do. It only requires a curiosity about our own movement habits. Some of those habits have been causing limitations, pain, inflammation and over-exertion for perhaps years. We’ve learned certain unhealthy habitual movements and postures so long ago that we may no longer recognize them or know that we can actually change our old patterns. With the Feldenkrais® Method we can recognize those hindering habits and find better ways of moving that are healthy, strengthening and pain free. This happens not only on the physical plane – it also ripples out into the rest of one’s life.
