Connect to the roots of rhythm with internationally acclaimed choreographer Samba Diallo (@afrofit_bysamba). In this 90-minute, all-levels West African Dance workshop, Samba weaves the athletic drills of his AfroFit™ method with signature choreography drawn from Côte d’Ivoire’s village celebrations and National Ballet repertoire. You’ll start with a spine-loosening warm-up, move through traveling steps that build strength in the hips and core, and then layer in call-and-response footwork to sharpen your musicality.

Throughout the class, Samba shares cultural context—explaining how each rhythm signifies rites of passage, harvest, or communal joy—so dancers connect not just with the movement, but with its meaning. Expect grounded technique and a vibrant sense of community. Modifications are available; both beginners and seasoned dancers will leave feeling inspired and empowered.
