Still & Moving Center is a place where the entire ‘ohana (family) can come and celebrate the arts of moving. For kids, our ever-evolving roster of mindful movement classes in Hawaii typically includes: Sitting Baby Hula, Keiki Hula, Aerial and Yoga. We’ve taught everything from Archery to Anatomy to kids, Art to Astronomy! In such classes, your children learns to move mindfully. We teach tradition, and we encourage creativity. This is a place for your child’s mind, imagination, physical agility, and feelings of social interconnectedness to thrive!

Our highly trained teachers treasure the children they teach, so you can rest easy knowing that your child is safe and learning meaningful skills in a positive context with other children. Children who have grown up coming regularly to Still & Moving Center experience a strong sense of community, of cross-cultural appreciation, and a multi-generational enjoyment of one another.

We train and welcome our keiki (children) to participate in our public events and celebrations with family values. We celebrate the Indian festival of Lights, called Diwali, by enacting the swash-buckling story of the Ramayana – with characters 5-85 years of age acting, dancing, being warriors, and “flying” through the air. Students of all ages dance hula in our May Day is Lei Day event. Our Merry & Bright holiday celebration near the Winter Solstice showcases skills our students young and old have learned in their classes. We have celebrated Easter, Whales, Dangle Your Bones glow-in-the-dark aerial at Halloween, and the Hawaiian season of Makahiki — all as family events.

At these wonderfully warm, supportive occasions your child learns more about the wide world we live in. They also gain confidence through performing, sharing their newfound or well-cultivated talents with others.

We look forward to having fun with your children while teaching them the importance of mindful movement in community that they will carry through the rest of their lives. Sign your kids up for a mindful movement class with Still & Moving in Hawaii today! Choose from hula, aerial dance, yoga, and more.
