Find a healthier, happier you! Since 2011, Still & Moving Center has empowered our kupuna, our senior adults, to enhance their physical health, emotional well-being, and mental clarity. Seniors integrate easily within our mixed-age community. In Hawaii, folks of all ages joyfully dance hula together, including here at Still & Moving Center!

Age is no reason to stop moving. If anything, it is a reason to get moving! “Through movement, we find health!” is our motto. Study after study proves that mindful physical movement preserves mental acuity and maintains the body’s health through the aging process.
Our mindful movement classes for seniors ask the student to truly pay attention to the body’s sensations and to adjust their activity accordingly. All our Still & Moving Center teachers instruct students to move only in ways that feel good and safe to their bodies. They teach students to adapt their movement to their body’s current needs. This approach allows seniors to confidently approach movement classes here that otherwise might seem beyond their reach.

Many of our classes are suitable for all ages, also geared with our kupuna in mind. Our teachers are here for you. They meet you at your present fitness level, help you to recognize, work with, and transcend your movement limitations, and lead you to Try one of the following:

Our mindful movement practices for seniors increase the brain and nervous system’s neuroplasticity: our ability to rehabilitate, rebuild, and re-wire the mind-body connection. Moshe Feldenkrais, the founder of the Feldenkrais® Method, did some of ground-breaking work in the field of neuroplasticity. Still & Moving Center helps seniors regain their health, finding new, pain-free ways to move with Feldenkrais® classes ever since we opened.

Still & Moving Center also gives you the chance to be still in your body, active in your mind! Some of those opportunities include:

In addition to weekly fitness and wellness classes in Hawaii, Still & Moving Center provides a great variety of workshops and events every month – some of which are free or at a nominal cost. People of all ages come together to celebrate, learn, and participate in a multi-culturally rich community.
Our therapists give older bodies the TLC they deserve – whether through massage, lomilomi, acupuncture, or other healing modalities, such as wellness coaching, personal training, or nutrition coaching.
