Academy of Mindful Movement PlayLab Workshop

 for Instructors and Coaches only!
FREE

In-person & Live Online
Thursday, June 19, 2025
5:30 – 6:30 pm Hawaii Time

Come play! Seriously. No matter what moving art you teach, I feel confident that you will bring elements of this Play Lab back to your own practice.

Find your path into new ways of moving. Challenge your proprioception, enhance your strength if you want to, increase your balance, and extend your flexibility.

Work up a sweat or go deep and mellow. Or both! It’s your body’s choice. You’ll tune into exactly what your own body is asking for.

We’ll move on the wall, move with chairs, and move on the floor. And we’ll invite you to stay and give us your valuable feedback.

I’d love to tell you more….

However, Play is moving spontaneously. That’s what mindful movement is all about.

So, come drop into the moment, into the movement, and Be Here Now!

If you are attending online, you will need:

  • Your “wing span” of space against a bare wall or sturdy door
  • Rug, carpet or yoga mat on the floor
  • Sturdy chair with no arms. Metal folding chair works well.
  • Optional if you don’t have a chair: Large stability exercise ball or couch.

This PlayLab is for Instructors and Coaches only.
To request permission to participate, please contact Renée Tillotson at Renee@academyofmindfulmovement.com or reach out by phone at (808) 397-7678.

Renée Tillotson

Renée Tillotson is the director of Still & Moving Center, the legacy founder of the Academy of Mindful Movement, and the author of the forthcoming book Mindful Movement – The Art of Self-Coaching.

She opened Still & Moving Center to teach students and opened the Academy to train instructors and coaches to move mindfully, to become self-guiding human beings.

Renée’s inspiration comes from the Joy and moving meditation she experiences in the practice of Nia, and from the lifelong learning she’s gained at the Institute of World Culture in Santa Barbara, California. Still & Moving Center aspires to serve the community, support the Earth and its creatures, and always be filled with laughter and friendship!

Enthusiasm fills every class and event Renée leads. The motto: ‘Move your body. Still your mind. Find center. Find Joy!” motivates her daily life.

A second degree Nia Black Belt, Renée says, “Through Nia I realized that I was born to dance — and perhaps everyone is! Nia embraces both the yin and yang energies, helping all of us to balance our natures. Nia gives me the chance to play like a child again… mindfully! I like to think of my classes as invigorating the body and elevating the spirit.”

Engaged in an earnest, life-long spiritual quest, Renée assembles the Still & Moving Center Almanac each year, filled with inspirational quotes by everyone from the Dalai Lama to Dolly Parton. She loves taking part in conversations that merge philosophical, spiritual and scientific thought with a lifestyle of compassion.
