Tai Chi & Moving Meditation Classes

Like the soft curve of a circle, Tai Chi invites you to join in anywhere along its path, whether you are a beginner or an experienced practitioner. Originally developed by monks in China as a meditative method of self-defense, you can now join millions of people around the world who enjoy Tai Chi as a graceful, grounded movement practice that brings calm to the body and mind.

The Yang style of Tai Chi Chu’an, recognized as a Chinese cultural treasure to promote health, consists of twenty-four moves performed in a slow manner with a low center of gravity. The many moves that extend across the midline stimulate the brain and nervous system, resulting in a sensation of simultaneous calm and alertness. Students discover many applications to their daily experience and often notice life improvements within a month of starting T’ai Chi Chu’an. Some of the benefits of our in person and virtual Tai Chai classes include improved balance and fall-protection, as well as coordination, increased stamina, better flexibility, healthier circulation and blood pressure, and deeper sleep.

Still & Moving Center opened with weekly Tai Chi classes as one of our primary forms of moving meditation, and we have honored the practice ever since. We have welcomed world famous Tai Chi master and author Chungliang Al Huang many times to our center, with whom we have compared Tai Chi to the practices of Hula, Yoga and Lua.

Our virtual Tai Chi and moving meditation classes at Still & Moving offer a holistic practice for anyone looking to improve their overall vitality and well-being.
