What does it feel like to move in and suspend in the air, and have increased body awareness and balance? This is your series, designed for those who are new to the aerial experience. Here is your opportunity to learn fundamental aerial skills in a safe and supportive environment. You will practice in the straight silks, as well as on the floor, developing the body skills so important to being successful, having fun, understanding how your body moves, and enriching your mind/body connection. We will focus on the basic skills, which include but are not limited to: learning how to handle aerial apparatus, body alignment, safe entry and dismount, basic climbs and foot locks, and inversions. With practice, your entire body, not just upper body and core, will develop strength, flexibility, alignment and stamina.
Kindly let your instructor know of any injuries. Contra-indications for aerial classes: glaucoma, heart-conditions, fused spine, pregnancy beyond doctor recommendation.
Clothing requirements: tight-fitting; no zippers or metal; under-arms covered. Jewelry off. T-shirt on! No perfume.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to ensure you can safely enjoy the class. Since space is limited and setup time is necessary, we are not able to accommodate late arrivals to Aerial classes. If you sign up and do not show up to this limited space class, you will still be charged for the class.
PLEASE NOTE: In order to continue to offer in-person classes, Still & Moving Center will require all in-person students to show proof of vaccination starting September 1, 2021. Please bring your vaccine card (photocopy or photo are also acceptable) with you to verify with the front desk prior to your next in-person class. Verification will be noted so that you will only need to show your vaccine card once. We will not store a visual record of your personal information.
