The Academy of Mindful Movement
Mindful Movement Teacher Training
What is a Mindful Movement
Instructor?
• Mindful Movement Instructors respect and protect the safety and health of the mover’s body.
• They teach their students/athletes/performers to pay attention to their body’s sensations and needs and to gear their movement practice accordingly.
• Mindful Movement Instructors teach with continuity of consciousness, rather than with scattered, haphazard lack of awareness.
• Mindful Movement enhances Self-awareness.
The Academy of Mindful Movement trains instructors to
teach to the whole person,
creating authentic connections,
getting results while protecting movers from injury,
and offering a space brimming with potential,
where movers feel safe, supported and eager to learn.
What is a Mindful Movement instructor?
An instructor who:
Teaches their movers to pay attention to the body’s sensations & needs,
Respects & protects their movers’ bodies,
Teaches with continuity of consciousness,
& embraces Joy!
Take your instruction to the next level & Apply a mindful lens to your teaching
The Academy accepts experienced instructors of any movement practice: athletic, artistic, fitness, recreational, therapeutic.
We train instructors to teach with greater awareness, to enhance the safety & sustainability of their movement practice,
and we certify to the public that our Instructors are teaching their practice safely, mindfully – and Joyfully.
“The training videos and follow up questions make the material easy to understand and remember.
Going over the material in the live group sessions reinforces our learning.
And the Pods allow us to think about and apply what we have learned to improve our teaching.”
