Take this opportunity to learn and discover the sweet sounds of harmony. Prepare to perform “Happy Birthday” at our upcoming Birthday Celebration on March 16 – should you so choose! Reserve your spot in the workshop today and take the next step toward becoming the confident, expressive vocalist you’ve always dreamt of being!
Join Dustin in our newly christened Lyrical Lobby, singing to the accompaniment our newly acquired baby grand piano!!!
The Still & Moving Center Music and Choral group plans to make its premier by singing “Happy Birthday” in harmony! This is a life long skill that will benefit you at any group singing activity in the future! Harmonizing involves developing your listening skills, as well as your vocalizing abilities.
Join in for a special 90-minute workshop, designed for anyone who wants to advance their vocal skill and ability. Connect with your voice and develop a solid musical foundation, whether you’re a complete beginner, you’ve already studied with Dustin, or you are an experienced musician. Attend and receive personalized guidance from a professional vocal and music instructor.
The session will begin with vocal Warm-Ups, offering you routines to prepare your voice for singing and speaking that you can use anytime later in your life. Continuing to practice these warm-ups can even prevent vocal strain and injury while enhancing tone and flexibility.
In this fun and interactive session, you’ll learn breathing techniques and exercises to help you maximize lung capacity and maintain a steady airflow. You’ll discover the importance of enunciation, the art of clear and precise pronunciation, to improve vocal delivery. Learn how shaping your mouth also impacts your sound and projection.
Join us and get comfortable with musical scales – the building blocks for pitch control, melody creation, harmonization, and vocal accuracy.
This is a Level 2 workshop.
Enhance your confidence in your voice while having fun. Whether singing in the shower or on stage, these techniques help you to fully express yourself. This is more than just a workshop; it’s a stepping stone toward ongoing vocal development and a deeper connection to your voice.
For anyone who might want to join Dustin in sharing at our birthday celebration on March 16, Dustin will be offering 30 minutes of practice immediately following this workshop. You can also sign up for private vocal coaching sessions using this link.
Adults & mature teens
Dustin inspires his musical students to feel excited and confident in their voices. Through his own tumultuous journey of discovering himself vocally and musically, he empowers you to find your own abilities – no matter how seemingly hidden!
Dustin showed early musical talent. His parents, both preachers, somehow scraped together the money to give their young son piano lessons. Yet at some point he lost all faith in his musical ability. After an eventful breakthrough, Dustin went on to sing and accompany the full gospel choir on keyboard. He eventually toured the nation and spread the joy of music performing for churches, jails, and people in hospice. Dustin sang as a backup vocalist at popular concerts by Janet Jackson, The Winans, Kirk Franklin, and Donny McKlerken. See his story here: https://stillandmovingcenter.com/2023/12/letter-from-the-director-vol-126-december-2023/
Now, he finds joy in giving back the magic of music here at Still & Moving Center to students from all walks of life.
