May Day is Lei Day in Hawai’i! Join our hālau – our school of hula – Nā Hula Ola Aloha, and celebrate Lei Day through music and dance. Kumu Malia’s hula dancers will make your heart sing!
Malia’s students range in age from preschoolers in keiki hula, to mixed age kahiko students, to the gracious ladies in our Aloha Hula Classes. Dancers on May Day will perform in both the traditional kahiko and modern ‘auana hula styles.
This year, we will welcome guest performers from our Still & Moving Center ʻOhana! Janani’s Bharatanatyam dancers will share a flower offering.
Attendees are encouraged to wear lei to the event. Plenty of fresh flowers grace our celebration as students make their own lei for the occasion.
Letʻs celebrate Lei Day together through music and dance!
