Hula Classes at Still & Moving Center
Graceful and Beautiful Movements
Hula dancing is what often comes to mind for most when they think about the Hawaiian culture. Though now it is often used for entertainment, in ancient days, hula was used to retell and preserve stories about the history of Hawaii. A hula dancer tells the meaning of a song with the beautiful and graceful movements of their body. There is an underlying rule within hula that dances are to be performed in the exact way that they were taught and not changed. In this way, ancient stories about Hawaiian culture have been preserved for many, many years. Instead of using pen and paper, dance was used as the ancient method of preserving history.
There are many different styles of hula that have evolved over the years, and here at Still & Moving Center, we invite you to partake in our hula and Hawaiian culture classes. Learn about the intricacies of hula dancing as well as the beautiful Hawaiian culture.
