Step into the colorful world of Bollywood dance in this joyful, high-energy 6-week series led by the dynamic duo Nada and Sumoha! Participants will have the exciting opportunity to perform together at the Pan Pacific Festival, taking place June 12-14.

Bollywood dance blends classical Indian dance, folk traditions, and modern styles into a colorful and expressive art form filled with joy, rhythm, and storytelling. In this series, you’ll learn lively choreography inspired by iconic Bollywood films, infused with energy, grace, and cultural flair.

More than just learning steps, Bollywood dance is about community, celebration, and self-expression. Whether you’re new to dance or have previous experience, you’ll find a welcoming space to connect, move, and express yourself while preparing for a vibrant community performance at the festival.

Nada McClellan

Nada loves sharing the pure joy of Indian dance with each of you.

Nada McClellan fell in love with Bollywood and Indian folk dance in college. In 2012 she co-founded and directed a small Bollywood dance company, Aaja Nachle Hawaii, which performed at events and shows all over the state and offered regular community classes and workshops.

Nada has studied with a number of well-known dance teachers, danced on a competitive Bhangra team, and has directed and performed in professional videos and on stages in Hong Kong, Macau, New York, and Honolulu.

Sumoha Min

Sumoha Min celebrates the vibrant dance traditions of her community by sharing it with you!

Sumoha Min grew up in Houston, Texas, learning Garba and Raas dancing at an early age. She later trained in the classical Indian dance forms of Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi, while expanding her repertoire with modern, contemporary, and West African dance styles during her time at New York University.

Sumoha’s professional journey includes serving as a principal dancer and choreographer with NYU NASHA and PatelWorks Dance Co. in New York and Tattva Dance Co. in the San Francisco Bay Area. She also played a key role in founding the RAMA community, a creative collective dedicated to empowering AAPI artists.

After relocating to Hawaii in 2006, Sumoha joined Aaja Nachle Hawaii, where she helped produce three showcases and began teaching Bollywood dance to adults and youth. Now, after a brief pause to focus on raising her two children (ages 3 and 5), she is thrilled to return to the dance community and share her passion once again through classes.
