When I was a kid, I had a little set of magnets that I loved and carried with me everywhere. A couple of months ago, that memory randomly came back to me, and I started thinking about how much I wanted a set of magnets again.
Then one evening, while working at the front desk at Still & Moving Center, I came across a set that belonged to Dustin. I asked him if I could have them, and he said yes. It felt like such a small thing, but also like a funny little reminder of how sometimes the things we think about somehow find their way back to us.

Magnets attract, but they also repel. And I think there’s a little life lesson in that.

This month, try noticing what you’re naturally drawn toward and what you keep trying to force. Pay attention to the people, places, practices, and experiences that bring you energy, joy, and connection. At the same time, notice where you’re pushing too hard for something that continually seems to push back.

Instead of forcing it, practice trusting a little more. Lead with kindness, put good intentions and actions into the world, and trust in karma and the natural flow of life. Like magnets, perhaps we don’t need to chase everything. Sometimes we can simply pay attention to what draws us in, what pushes us in a different direction, and trust that both have something to teach us.
