During February, the month of love, Eva Geueke emphasizes how we can move in such a loving way that movement becomes medicine that can heal our bodies. By moving slowly with careful awareness, you develop a nonviolent relationship with your nervous system, bones, muscles, and ligaments. Find how movement can be a way of saying to yourself: ‘I love you!’  These workshops are also great Valentine’s gifts! You might consider a loved one who could benefit from this special “love your body” weekend.

DAY 2 – Loving Your Feet

Let’s love your feet! Happy feet make you feel that much happier.  What does love have to do with this? If you love something, you give it special attention. And, if you give it special attention through loving movement and touch, it’s as if you’re saying “I love you” to your feet!

In this workshop, you will learn simple movements that enhance foot mobility and strength while working on good posture at the same time. You’ll be able to repeat these easy moves later at home to benefit even more.

Having painful or deformed feet and toes from years of incorrect weight distribution and neglect can be a literal drag. Regaining flexible, spacious toes, feet and ankles are essential for balance and posture. We change our posture not only from the neck down but also from the feet up!

When your feet and toes function properly you can feel even more able-bodied, grounded, and joyful!

The Feldenkrais® method was developed by Judo Black belt and physician Dr. M. Feldenkrais in the 1940s to help heal his severe sports injury. His method has helped thousands of people of all ages, worldwide, to regain function and recover from injuries, tension and pain.

Dr. Feldenkrais understood that improving the function of the body starts with increasing the mind’s awareness of the body. With this new awareness, you re-pattern your movement, fascia and musculature. You drop excess effort and move with greater ease. Without even realizing it, you are resetting your nervous system. Your brain and body now work together more smoothly as you move.

The workshops can be taken separately, yet build onto each other when taken together.
