The benefits of this Saturday workshop include tension release, improved posture, and increased mobility in the neck and opening of the shoulders.  Take this wonderful opportunity to address chronic neck problems. Move and release tense shoulder girdles for improved range of motion.

With effective Feldenkrais® movements, you can get rid of that notorious ‘pain in the neck’. These exercises can be done from anywhere, at any time. And notice how once your neck releases, your face will start to look as if it’s had a vacation! This workshop will relieve overused shoulders caused by improper posture while on computers and cell phones.

Your neck and upper thoracic area, as well as your collarbones and shoulder blades, all play an important role in the mobility and health of your shoulder joints. In this workshop we will clarify your clavicle/scapula relationship and help function better together.

The neck can act as a bottleneck between our brain and our torso. Learn to let go of habitual tension, create space in the neck, and use your arms and shoulders again freely. It’s common to carry tension here, and it’s an area prone to injury. As a result, unpleasant, painful, and even dangerous conditions can arise. When we soften and heal the neck and shoulders, the possibility of a whole new outlook on life emerges.

This workshop offers simple and easy healing methods, gentle enough for all age groups and safe for people with most medical conditions.

With your neck as the focus on Day 1, your entire spine benefits from feeling longer.

Each of these Feldenkrais® Weekend workshops is designed to give you enough time to immerse yourself in the specialized area of the spine and surrounding areas. You may very well experience a big change and improvement of your overall well being right after the first workshop. By taking both workshops, you give your system an even better chance to change old, dysfunctional habits and learn new possibilities to improve in all areas of your life — not just physical.

Saturday, October 9 –  Day 1, 2:00 – 4:30 pm HST

Sunday, October 10 – Day 2, 11:30 am – 2:15 pm HST

The workshops can be taken separately, yet build onto each other when taken together.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to continue to offer in-person classes, Still & Moving Center will require all in-person students to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 48-hours of the date of visit to the studio. Please bring your vaccine card (photocopy or photo are also acceptable) or negative test result with you to verify with the front desk prior to your next in-person class. Verification of vaccine status will be noted so that you will only need to show your vaccine card once. We will not store a visual record of your personal information.

The vaccination or testing requirement is only one part of helping keep our community safe and healthy. All other protocols still stand: You will be temperature checked and expected to maintain masks, social distancing and hand sanitizing at all times. Please bring your own yoga mat and props if possible (rentals available). If you have symptoms of COVID 19, please refrain from attending.
