Letter from the Director
Our monthly Letter from the Director seeks to inspire members of our worldwide community.
The lead Life at the Center article or story gives examples of mindful living, of finding community, of vibrant wellbeing amid global dis-ease, of personal insight into some of today’s big-picture issues, of humor in the face of despair.
Each issue honors excellence in one of our teachers, students, or staff members in the Magnificence in Our ‘Ohana section.
Our Celebrating Magnificent Business article highlights a local business or nonprofit organization for its sustainable or charitable or mindful, or otherwise excellent practices.
Our Healthy Life Tip passes on a precious nugget of practical living experience for body, mind, or soul.
The Word to the Wise of the month summarizes or shines light on the dominant theme of that month’s letter with cogent, pithy, or poetic words that illuminate our heart’s wisdom. Our Video Fav adds a touch of humor or beauty to the end of the letter.
Still & Moving Center’s Director, Renée Tillotson,
curates, edits, or writes every component of this monthly missive, the Letter from the Director. She draws heavily from her lifelong learning at the Institute of World Culture in Santa Barbara, and her deep study of the philosophy of Theosophy. Her inspiration in these letters also comes from her mindfulness training in the Nia technique, her word crafting experience teaching English and writing play scripts, and her decades of writing in professional and business contexts.
As a long-time reader of the Aquarian Almanac, she is now an inveterate collector of inspirational quotes for the Still & Moving Center Almanac, which she creates annually. Her ongoing quote collection adds extra sparkle to the Letter from the Director.
Renée appeals to the indulgence of her friends, family members, students, and the rest of the world’s characters whose stories and photos appear for all the world to read and see in these letters. She thanks all of them for allowing their stories to make our lives a little brighter, funnier, more bearable, and even nobler, when seen through the lens of magnificence.
