Learn how this painless, safe, non-invasive way of examining the body’s tissues can help us to understand our breast health. Thermography does not use radiation.
Because of her own experience with several false positive mammograms and resulting mini-surgeries, Still & Moving Center’s director, Renée Tillotson, has invited Dr. Linda Fickes to explain thermal imagining during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Renée has been seeing Dr. Fickes for the last 10 years, with much greater knowledge and peace of mind about her breast health.
Thermography can give an accurate, detailed picture of our breasts and the surrounding areas. Early detection of breast cancer is critical to prompt treatment. When breast thermography is the first sign of a developing cancer, there is a 61% increase in survival rate. Additionally, thermography can provide helpful insight after a false positive mammogram. An accurate view of what’s happening in the body can also prevent over treatment of some cancers. With understanding we can release fear and take effective measures to improve our health.
Dr. Linda Fickes has an busy practice, specializing in women’s health, and has been in practice since 1984, on Oahu since 1989. She is the only Board Certified Medical Thermographer in the state of Hawaii and offers the only thermography service on Oahu.
