Step into the passionate world of Argentine Tango in this electrifying 8-Week Tango Performance Series, where every step brings you closer to the spotlight! Over two months, you’ll master the elegant walk, the dramatic embrace, and the fiery flair of tango’s most captivating moves—all under the guidance of our Artist in Residence – Maestra Josefina Stellato.
Each week, you’ll build skills, connection, and confidence while rehearsing a stunning, choreographed group piece that will culminate in a show-stopping live performance at our Diwali Festival of Lights on October 26. Imagine dancing under the glow of sparkling lights, to the rhythm of the music, in front of an audience swept up in the magic of the night.
Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just starting your tango journey, this series will transform you into a performer—ready to captivate hearts and set the stage ablaze. Expect passion, precision, and plenty of joy as we prepare for an unforgettable night.

Josefina Stellato
Do you recall the first time that watching a tango performance virtually swept you off your feet?!? That’s the feeling you’ll get watching and learning with Josefina Stellato! The closeness, the confidence, the breath-taking swoops and tantalizing pauses…
Josefina Stellato has been dancing Argentine tango at the highest level for more than two decades. She’s now arrived at Still & Moving Center as our Artist in Residence for about 6 months!
As a performer, Josefina has been a member of renowned choreographer Leonardo Cuello’s tango company at the National University of the Arts in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She’s been a cast member of Social Tango Project for the past decade, performing in multiple theaters in Buenos Aires! In 2023, Josefina participated in the company’s North American tour and performed at Kennedy Center in New York City.
As a teacher, Josefina deepened her understanding of pedagogy under the direction of Dana Frigoli and the DNI Tango school in Buenos Aires, where Josefina served as a senior faculty member. She was also an official member of the DNI Tango Company, where she participated in the live shows “Dos, lo que se disuelve”, “Asimétrico”, “Seres Materiales”; a film version of “Dos”, and “Remueve la piel suspire”, which Josefina created and choreographed.
Josefina has taught and performed at international festivals in Europe and during the pandemic gained a devoted following for her online lessons. Welcome to Still & Moving Center, live and in person, Josefina!
